Rusty
Young neutered male, Southern California...[NOV 03]
He is a very nice, calm dog, probably a mix. Friendly, loving, kissy and very eager to please. Rusty's spirit does not come across in this photo. This is a wonderful young adult dog who very desperately loves people and wants to be someone's loyal companion. He is heartbroken living in a kennel, he really DOES want to have a home. He will learn anything you have to teach him very quickly, this is a great dog. Contact All Breed Dog Rescue at (909) 795-4867 or SCAllbreedRescue@aol.com

Ellwood
8 mo neutered male, Laurel, MD...[APR 04]
I was named Parker because I was abandoned in a parking lot! I didn't understand, so I waited patiently for many days for someone to come back and get me but no one ever came. Let me tell you that although I am a big Belgian Mallinois those nights spent all alone out there were very scary especially when your tummy is empty and it is cold. MAGSR came to my rescue, they took me in, nursed me back to health (I was so very skinny) and I try to repay their love everyday. I adore people of all ages and sizes especially if they have treats which I have learned to take gently. My time "in the lot" left me with the need to dominate other dogs and kitties, well... let's just say it's just better if they aren't around, so, I can't go to a family with other pet or who have other animals that come to visit. In short I am not your "doggy" park or "doggy play date" type of guy but on a leash with a little distance I am just fine. I am really working very hard on my "problems" and the very special volunteers who drive more than an hour every weekend especially to visit me think that with just the right person and time I could adjust. Just ask any one of them, they will tell you I am one terrific guy. Guess you could best describe me as the laid back type, I enjoy my walks but like it best when we get back, and I just "hang out" with the volunteers. Of course the treats and all tummy rubs and attention I get from them I dream about all week. I have been waiting for so long for someone of my own who I can love, trust and protect (even though I am a big baby at heart). If you are lonely and need a big furry friend or just want a truly loving and devoted friend, please complete an application and mark it "I WANT PARKER/ELLWOOD!". For more information on Ellwood, as well as volunteer comments about him and updates, please visit Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue website or contact them at (410) 644-7763 or by email at magsrmail@yahoo.com

Arwen
8 mo spayed female in Southern California...[JUL 05]
We are calling Arwen our "pocket Belgian"...she has to be the smallest Malinois we have ever seen. Clearly purebred, she has the obsessive drive common to Mals, and will surely need both regular exercise and fun, focused training. She is confident, and affectionate with people, and will do best with someone who will take the time to establish a loving personal bond. She is fit and agile, and should make a great agility/obedience dog. Arwen's new adopter must have 6' wood or blockwall fencing, as she is able to jump very high for her size. She has many endearing traits...she loves to jump in one's lap for affection, she will greet new people with paws-on hugs... and she is crazy for catching bugs! Arwen does well with other sociable dogs, is great with cats, and we think will be fine with older children. She also has been learning good basic obedience skills in her excellent fosterhome. Arwen is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her vaccinations. Contact Teri Meredith, Lily Rock Belgian Rescue, at teri2ns@earthlink.net

Tracy
2 yo spayed female, Lithia, Florida (near Tampa)...[JUL 05]
Tracy has not had the benefit of training but thrives to learn. Her temperament is sweet, gentle, loving, and affectionate. She thrives for contact. She is terrific with all other dogs, large and small. She loves people, young and old. She weighs about 60 pounds. A home without cats would be best. Tracy was originally in another so-called rescue and as we are told, became ill and no one would vet her so she was given shots daily of PenG. When I took her, her neck was crooked but has straightened quite a bit since then although it is not 100% straight. Now that the pups are 100% weaned and her body has had some time to recuperate, we will be scheduling her to be spayed. Visit Tracy at www.heidislegacydogrescue.com. | Jack |
9 yo neutered male in Southern California...[SEPT 05]
Jack was turned in to a San Diego shelter recently by his elderly owners, who felt they could no longer afford to care for him. He had a large tumor on his side, perhaps they thought they could not cover his medical expenses. With help from valued friends, we were able to rescue and transport Jack to an excellent facility. He has now had his tumor removed, and we are happy to report it was only a fatty lipoma. So his prognosis is great! Jack is a fun guy...stable and affectionate, he will work out in many family situations. He does well with both people and other dogs, and has been living successfully in a setting with multiple cats. Since Belgians often live between 12 and 17 years, we believe Jack has a lot of life left in him, and deserves a loving, active home for his remaining years. Jack is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccinations. Contact Teri Meredith, Lily Rock Belgian Rescue, at teri2ns@earthlink.net

Sienna
3 yo spayed female in Southern California...[OCT 05]
Big, strong and beautiful, Sienna needs an active home!! A Malinois with unusually long coat, Sienna is the product of an intervariety breeding. Her sire is a wonderful Terv (Loup Noir lines), and her dam is a top-flight Malinois. She was bred in the US, and is not registered at this time. Sienna was recently surrendered to us by a family who is expecting a child, and moving to another location. In the stress of all these changes, they did not feel they could give Sienna the time and energy she needed to be happy. Sienna is high-energy and somewhat reactive, so she needs to go to an experienced home. At this point, we would also say no other female dogs (she does fine with the boys), no cats or other small pets, including small dogs. Not sure about young children, but think it depends on the parenting involved. I think she would do very well in many performance sports, if she has an effective trainer. Sienna is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her vaccinations. Contact Teri Meredith, Lily Rock Belgian Rescue, at teri2ns@earthlink.net

Chica
8 mo spayed female in Southern California...[OCT 05]
This little girl is FULL of potential, and of herself!! Chica is a delightful youngster, all Malinois, very friendly and confident. She was brought to us by a rescue partner in central Calif., who picked her up after Chica was apparently dumped by someone near a canal ( how anyone could dump a dog like this is beyond me ). Now in an excellent fosterhome, Chica is learning house manners and basic obedience. She gets along well with other dogs, though she tries to be a bit pushy at first. At this point, we would probably say no cats or other small pets. Older children should be fine, but as always, supervised interaction is a must. Chica does have lots of toy and ball drive, though we are not sure yet whether she will make a good working dog. Please remember this cute puppy will soon become a grown dog, and we are looking for a committed forever home for her! Chica is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her vaccinations.
